BIOGRAPHY
Ellen Gaffney picked up her first needle when she was about 10 years old. It has been flying through fabric non-stop over the years. She is adept at heirloom sewing, so making a quilt is child's play for her. Many of her quilts are designed with children in mind... she loves juvenile theme fabrics or using more sophisticated fabrics to make a quilt for the young at heart.
Ellen recently "retired" as managing editor of QUILT magazine. She was the customer care contact; supervised photo shoots, often styling the quilt settings herself; and of course, made many a featured quilt. She recently made several quilts in the Anna Griffin Lulu fabrics for Windham Fabrics and is currently sewing an array of projects designed by Anna using her new fabric collection.
One of Ellen's favorite quilts, shown below, was featured on the cover of Patchwork Quilting magazine.
